Job Description:
- An internship with Senator Jon Tester is a unique opportunity for students to observe the workings of the U.S. Senate first-hand. Applicants who are motivated, hard-working, and eager to learn are encouraged to apply.
- Senator Tester’s internship program provides an exciting experience for students interested in public service to participate in the legislative process.
- The program is open to students of all majors, preference is given to Montana residents, but all students are encouraged to apply.
- Interns will be responsible for constituent services, administrative work, legislative research, and special projects.
- Administrative work includes welcoming people in the front office, answering the phones and sorting mail. Constituency work includes sending Privacy Release Forms, scanning correspondence and cases, assigning correspondence, and replying to constituents. Interns will attend public meetings and help prepare memos.
- Internships are available year-round and should be scheduled with each office.
- Please note that our internships are unpaid, and state office interns must work a minimum of 10 hours a week.
