Media; founder of the first streaming music video web site. Greg Morrow
joined LAUNCH as Vice President, Business Development following
LAUNCH's acquisition of MUSICVIDEOS.COM. In this role, Greg directed all
strategic alliances and marketing opportunities for LAUNCH.com
including AOL, Yahoo, Real Networks and Microsoft. Greg currently has
full P&L responsibility for LAUNCH.com in his role as Executive
Producer. LAUNCH.com offers personalized Internet radio, music videos,
downloads, music news, album reviews, concert listings, and music
customization and personalization features. A library of nearly 8,000
videos available on-demand features selections ranging from alternative
and dance, to country and hip-hop. Yahoo, Inc. acquired LAUNCH Media in
July of 2001. Over the years Greg has been an active evangelist in the streaming
media, entertainment and Internet industries. Greg has participated in
numerous speaking engagements in his roles including Streaming Media
Conferences, Jupiter MediaMetrix: Plug-in, Qualcomm Wireless Developer,
WebNoize and Billboard Music Video Conference. In addition Greg has been
quoted in USA TODAY, Los Angeles Times, Rolling Stone, San Jose
Mercury, ZDTV, WIRED and One to One Marketing. As co-founder and CEO of MUSICVIDEOS.COM, Greg managed all
partnerships, marketing and product strategy for the company.
Capitalizing on the shift in the broadcast media paradigm from
television to Internet-based distribution, MUSICVIDEOS.COM delivers more
than three million videos monthly to a membership of over 1,500,000
viewers in the early years of internet video, circa 1997. Prior to co-founding MUSICVIDEOS.COM, Greg directed the product
development of "The Gathering," an early college-oriented online
community produced by National Media, Inc. Greg earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara. |
