Mr. Cooper's practice focuses on music business, motion picture, television, multi-media, Internet and intellectual property issues. Mr. Cooper is the former President of both the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and the California Copyright Conference. He is also former Chairman of the ABA Forum Committee on the Entertainment and Sports Industries.

He has been a guest lecturer at Harvard Law School, U.C.L.A. Law School, Stanford Law School, Boalt Hall, the Florida Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, the Practicing Law Institute, the California Copyright Conference, MIDEM, American Film Market, the Cannes Film Festival, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the U.S. Copyright Society.

He has a J.D. from DePaul University.
